Police reveal results of post mortem

3 April 09

A POST mortem examination on the body of a man who died in hospital after being admitted with head injuries has taken place.

At about 11.30pm on Wednesday, February 25, police received a call from the ambulance service reporting that a man was unconscious with serious head injuries at an address on Albyn Bank Road, Preston.

Sadly the man, who was named as William Brunsdon, died on Tuesday night at the Royal Blackburn Hospital.

A post mortem examination has taken place and a cause of death has been established as pneumonia. An investigation to establish the link between Mr Brunsdon’s original injuries with which he was admitted to hospital and his cause of death is being conducted.

Enquiries are still ongoing in relation to the initial incident.

A 31-year-old man from Preston who was arrested on suspicion of assault remains on police bail.
