The Freedom of Information Act 2000 gives a general right of access to all types of information held by public authorities. It sets out exemptions from that right and also places a number of obligations on public authorities. Any person who makes a request to a public authority for information must be informed whether the public authority holds that information and, subject to exemptions, be supplied with that information generally within twenty working days.
To access information of this nature, please can you email your specific enquiry to information@lancashire.pnn.police.uk or alternatively in writing to Freedom of Information, Data Protection Department, Lancashire Police Headquarters, PO Box 77, Hutton, Preston, PR4 5SB and a member of staff will look at the feasibility of fulfilling your requirements.
One of the obligations under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 is the need to create and maintain a Publication Scheme. The aim of the Publication Scheme is to set out classes of information which routinely are made publicly available. The Constabulary’s Publication Scheme can be located at the following link.
The current version of the Scheme is based upon the Information Commissioners’ Office’s Model Scheme and the Definitions Document for Police Forces (i.e. the minimum standards in which a Police Force should adhere to in its Publication Scheme). Both of these documents can be found at the following web addresses:-
